What about us, how do we manage our plastic waste?

During the manufacturing process of our housewares, it is inevitable to generate plastic waste, for example from production startup or quality control. Instead of treating them as waste for disposal, it seems natural for us to adopt a recovery and reuse approach.
In this sense, we can say that our company does not produce plastic waste, because production waste is ground and granulated to be put back into the production cycle. Depending on the color of the residual material, we have developed two different ways of reusing our plastic waste:
- Recycling by color
When production waste retains specific colors, we separate and reuse it directly to produce new items that require the same color. This allows us to optimize the use of the material without changing the aesthetics or compromising the quality. The difference is not noticeable, but it is there, and it is all to the benefit of the environment. - Mixed granules
When we do not separate waste by color, we grind it together. The result is a gray or black granulate. This is then reused to produce black household items or for which the dark color is appreciated or acceptable. Then again, isn’t it always said that black goes on everything and is the ultimate elegant color?
In conclusion, our internal management of plastic waste makes sense in a precise circuit of recycling and reuse. Those who know us, know that our efforts go in this very direction: from the search for the perfect compound to make housewares from post-consumer plastics, to the latest developments to produce biodegradable plastic items. Passing, of course, to the creation of plastic products freed from the use of virgin plastic as a raw material.
